  • MONDAY, 8/22/2022 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Call in to the City Council meeting and demand justice for #KendrecMcDade and demand the City Council fire the police officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain.   • TUESDAY, 8/23/2022 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 – LAPD has shot 29 people so far this year, killing 11. These terrible statistics make LAPD the deadliest police force in the country, and we must all be outraged. Make public comment during the LAPC meeting and demand the commissioners take meaningful action to make #BlackLivesMatter! Coalition talking points here.   • TUESDAY, 8/23/2022 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell IN PERSON at Torrance City Hall 3031 Torrance Blvd. – Come out IN PERSON and stand with the family of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell in demanding the council deliver justice in his name by meeting these demands: 1) Fire Torrance police officers Matthew Concannon, Anthony Chavez, and Brian Kawamoto killing Christopher 2) Establish a civilian oversight commission.   • WEDNESDAY, 8/24/2022 at 4PM – Black August Edition of the weekly #EndPoliceAssociations rally, 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – This week’s rally to #EndPoliceAssociations will continue to honor Black August. Come out every Wednesday to #EndPoliceAssociations that bully and bribe elected officials and shield killer cops from accountability, with unjust legal principles like qualified immunity. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication. Streamed live on Instagram at @blmlosangeles.

  • SATURDAY, 8/27/2022 8-10AM – This Is Not a Drill! on KBLA Talk 1580AM or facebook.com/BLMLA – You won’t want to miss the close out of our #BlackAugust programming! Our own Sister Melina Abdullah will be in conversation with veteran freedom fighters and former political prisoners Henry “Hank” Jones, one of the “San Francisco 8” and Sekou Odinga, who served 34 years in prison on charges of liberating Assata Shakur.   • SATURDAY, 8/27/2022 10AM – South Central Tour of Black August Landmarks, Chuco’s Justice Center  – Black August organizers Harold Welton and Jitu Sadiki will be leading a bus tour of Black August Landmarks around South Central, Los Angeles, including the Black Panther Party headquarters formerly located at 41st and Central. Wear masks!
