  • MONDAY, 8/8/2022 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Call in to the City Council meeting and demand justice for #KendrecMcDade and demand the City Council fire the police officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain.   • TUESDAY, 8/9/2022 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell IN PERSON at Torrance City Hall 3031 Torrance Blvd. – Come out IN PERSON and stand with the family of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell in demanding the council deliver justice in his name by meeting these demands: 1) Fire Torrance police officers Matthew Concannon, Anthony Chavez, and Brian Kawamoto killing Christopher 2) Establish a civilian oversight commission.   • WEDNESDAY, 8/10/2022 at 4PM – Black August Edition of the weekly #EndPoliceAssociations rally, 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – This week’s rally to #EndPoliceAssociations will honor Black August. Come out every Wednesday to #EndPoliceAssociations that bully and bribe elected officials and shield killer cops from accountability, with unjust legal principles like qualified immunity. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication.   • SUNDAY, 8/14/2022 7-9PM  – BLMLA Monthly Organizing Meeting at the Center for Black Power, 3423 W. 43rd Place in AfricaTown (Leimert Park)  – Join the Black August monthly organizing meeting, where Comrades Jitu Sadiki and Harold Welton will lead a special conversation on the history and work of the month-long commemoration. Back-to-school giveaways for our young people. Light dinner with vegan options provided along with fresh produce bags for all in attendance. Donations encouraged, but not required. Open to new folks, returning folks, ALL Black folks, non-Black allies, youth, elders, families. Closed to law enforcement, media, government officials, and haters.
