  • MONDAY, 12/6/2021 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446A $7.5M settlement implies wrongdoing, harm and guilt. We want accountability by way of Edwin Dumaguindin, Ronald Soreno and others being fired from their positions and no longer patrolling our streets. Help us push back against this idea that a community experiencing violence needs more police. WE DON’T WANT MORE OF PPD BUT LESS. Make public comment at the Pasadena City Council meeting to: 1) Call for the immediate firing and prosecution of Officer Edwin Dumaguindin 2) Accept the resignation of Police Chief Perez EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.   • TUESDAY, 12/7/2021 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at TorranceCA.gov and facebook.com/TorranceCA/ December 9th is #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell’s third angelversary. Let’s make sure Torrance City Council knows that three years later, we still stand with his family and will never be silenced, even while they hide from us as they go back to virtual meetings. It is so important to his mama that we get in lots of emails and phone calls to the meeting to continue to uplift the demands 1) Fire Torrance police officers Anthony Chavez, Brian Kawamoto and Matthew Concannon for the murder of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell, and 2) Establish a civilian oversight commission over Torrance PD.   • WEDNESDAY, 12/8/2021 at 4PM (and every Wednesday at 4PM) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – Join us in beloved community to #EndPoliceAssociations! Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication. If you’re not able to come out, share the flyer widely and engage in virtual protest by tuning in to the action on Instagram Live @blmlosangeles. This week’s protest will focus on how police are corrupt and police associations only exist to shield their corruption from accountability. Thursday, December 9th is also the angelversary of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell and we will have candles in commemoration of his life stolen by Torrance Police in December 2018.

  • THURSDAY, 12/9/2021 at 4PM – Torrance Police Are Corrupt! Press Conference and Rally at the Billboard for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell, 22804 S. Western Ave., Torrance – On December 8th, a Los Angeles Times article was published demonstrating the detailing the depth of the racism and corruption in the Torrance Police Department. BLMLA has been consistently protesting Torrance PD for three years…since the murder of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at their hands. Join a press conference and rally on the 3-year angelversary of Chris’ murder as we demand accountability and action in light of this new information.
