  • Sunday, 6/16/2024 11AM-6PM - Juneteenth Festival in AfricaTown/Leimert Park - Join our comrades from the AfricaTown Coalition as we take a day to celebrate Black freedom with good food, music, and speakers - including Dr. Cornel West and our own Sister Melina Abdullah, and Sister Jan Williams. Let’s talk about how to move from being free-ish to free by demanding and winning reparations!

  • Wednesday, 6/19/2024 at 4PM - Juneteenth Edition of #EndPoliceAssociations Rally on Crenshaw in AfricaTown - the Lot at 4345 Crenshaw Blvd. - Join for a celebration of Black freedom on our day of Jubilee. We’ll stand together with the AfricaTown Coalition. Drumming with Project Knucklehead, snacks, speakers…including families of those killed by police. Let’s build towards the world that we all want, need and deserve…a world of our most radical imaginings. Back at our normal spot - chanting down the Los Angeles Police Protective League next week.

  • Saturday, 6/22/2024 at 2PM - Demonstrate Against the Death Merchants at Boeing and Raytheon-RTX at 1950 E. Imperial Highway, El Segundo - Join BLMLA and BLM Grassroots along with more than a dozen other organizations as we rally in protest against the use of Southern California-manufactured weapons in attacks on the Palestinian people. Stand with us in our pursuit for justice and peace, and help us send a strong message: "Out Now!" It's time to take a stance against injustice and violence. 

  • Saturday, 6/22/2024 at 5PM - Vigil for Gaza at Twila Reid Park 3100 W. Orange Avenue Anaheim, CA, 92804 - Join BLMLA and Black Lives Matter Grassroots as we stand in solidarity with our Palestinian comrades from USPCN the Palestinian Women’s Association at their for a "Vigil for Gaza'' to honor and mourn the tens of thousands who have been massacred in Palestine. Please bring your candles, flowers, flags, keffiyehs, and chairs.

  • We celebrated Fathers Day at the Juneteenth Festival in AfricaTown (Leimert Park)! BLMLA was in the house with our comrades at AfricaTown coalition. Taking the stage were our own Dr. Melina Abdullah, Jan Williams, and public intellectual and independent presidential candidate Dr. Cornel West. We celebrated Black freedom and fathers all day long!

  • At our #EndPoliceAssociations rally to End Police Associations, we raised our voices for justice in memory of the thousands of lives that have been lost at the hands of Police and state sanctioned violence. Join us every wednesday as we fight for the end of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. 

  • On our radio program, This Is Not a Drill!, aired live on KBLA 1580 AM on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, Audrena Redmond and Yazmin Monet Watkins were joined by our own Dr. Melina Abdullah to discuss the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity, Juneteenth and the ongoing need for reparations, and spoke with the family of George Floyd.
