Recap:
On Sunday, November 26th, BLMLA gathered with the Palestinian-American Women’s Association, US Palestinian Community Network and the coalition in solidarity as we honored and mourned together for the over 20,000 Palestinian lives that have been mercilessly stolen by U.S.-backed Israel Defense Forces at the Vigil for Gaza that took place in Twila Reid Park in Anaheim. Dr. Melina Abdullah reminded us that while we mourn we must fight using “every tool,” including voting, using our economic power and our movement power- “we must make ourselves ungovernable.”
Last Wednesday’s #EndPoliceAssociations rally, Week 146, we honored our righteous ancestors with the reminder that we must continue to do the work even as hardship comes our way so that our people can get free as we go into this #BlackXmas season where we #BuildBlack, #BuyBlack and #BankBlack. The family of #JamesMincey was present as we drummed up the revolution with Project Knucklehead.
Last Saturday’s “This Is Not A Drill '' revisited the lively conversation on “Black Xmas” with Erik Hardeman of Public Statement Apparel, BLMLA’s Jan Williams and Kevin Cohee of OneUnited Bank. Our #MoreThanAHashtag conversation was with the father of #JohnCrawfordIII, who was murdered by Ohio police in 2014 while holding a pellet gun for sale inside a Walmart. Dr. Melina Abdullah hosted.
