Recap:

  1. Last Tuesday, BLMLA and Community Coalition held a press conference to announce their lawsuit against the LAPD for their violent tactics and excessive use of force at traffic stops. The press conference was followed by a packed Los Angeles Police Commission meeting, where members of the community called for an end to the violent traffic stops and continued demands to #FireChiefMoore.

  2. Last Wednesday’s #EndPoliceAssociations rally, Week 149, Baba Akili gave a passionate framing in anticipation for our Black x Palestine #BlackXmas Shutdown and Project Knucklehead played a revolutionary rhythm in the rain. The family of #JamesMincey poured libation and Dr. Melina Abdullah encouraged us to keep organizing friends and family in our deep struggle for Black liberation.

  3. On Saturday, it was NO BUSINESS AS USUAL DURING A GENOCIDE. The #BlackXPalestine action organized by BLMLA, Latino & Muslim Unity, and White People for Black Lives absolutely SHUT IT DOWN in Beverly Hills. This unprecedented solidarity action lifted up the demands for a #CeasefireNow and a #FreePalestine as well an end to the assault on Black life. We began at La Cienega Park with thousands participating in a spiritual grounding in different faith traditions.  We then took the streets, chanted and marched past small groups of violent zionist counter demonstrators, taking the the intersection in front of the Beverly Center for hours. LAPD came out on force and finally issued a dispersal order and threatened arrest. We’d already disrupted corporate profits at one of the most affluent malls on the busiest shopping day of the year. This is what solidarity looks like!
