  • TUESDAY, 5/3/2022 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 Now that Mayor Eric Garcetti’s budget is out with an 8% increase to the LAPD’s already bloated budget, we need to flood the police commission’s public comment period with the call to #DefundThePolice!   • TUESDAY, 5/3/2022 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at TorranceCA.gov and facebook.com/TorranceCA/We continue to organize and demand that Torrance City Council make #BlackLivesMatter in Torrance, in the names of #MichelleShirley and #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell. These are our demands to uplift during public comment: 1) Establish an independent civilian oversight commission of the Torrance police department 2) Fire all of the officers involved in the messaging scandal 3) Resume in person meetings so the public can be heard 4) Reject the $30 million police budget increase 5) Reject the vote to give raises to theTorrance police department.   • WEDNESDAY, 5/4/2022 at 2PM -Cal State L.A. University Student Union (rear entrance, closest to street); 5154 State University Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90032 - Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles, the NAACP Southern Area, and the California Faculty Association will be hosting a press conference condemning the violent removal of Dr. Abdullah from the mayoral debate and the undemocratic practices that led to the despicable actions of the university and its police force.

  • WEDNESDAY, 5/4/2022 at 4PM (and every Wednesday) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – This week’s #EndPoliceAssociations will honor all of the mothers who have to fight for justice while also grieving the loss of their loved ones stolen by police violence. Come out to give the mothers revolutionary love and protest the police associations that block them from receiving any type of justice for losing their loved ones. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication. Streamed live on Instagram at @blmlosangeles.
