  • MONDAY, 3/7/2022 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Pasadena City Council decided to go into closed session this week. Publicly, they are discussing “community safety intervention programs” that criminalize our youth, rely on increased law enforcement presence and bolster an already criminal system of injustice. Place two speaker cards for the meeting for Item 3 - this isn’t what keeps our youth safe, and Item A - ANY city manager you place MUST fire the officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain.   • TUESDAY, 3/8/2022 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 – LAPD continues to exploit conditions to fund itself and expand the “stalker state,” where people are constantly surveilled, tracked, and criminalized. We still say #DefundThePolice! Make public comment to reject the surveillance of Black and Brown communities. Coalition talking points here. Please use the “raise hand” function to speak.   • WEDNESDAY, 3/9/2022 at 4PM (and every Wednesday) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – Every Wednesday we take over the street in front of the Los Angeles Police Protective League office for a protest to #EndPoliceAssociations! This week will be a special Black Women Are Divine themed protest, honoring the Spirit of Mama Harriet Tubman on her 200th birthday. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication. Streamed live on Instagram at @blmlosangeles.

  • SATURDAY, 3/12/2022 12-5pm – Black Women Are Divine at Norman Houston Park 4800 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90008 – In honor of all of the Black women whose lives were stolen by state sanctioned violence…#BreonnaTaylor, #WakieshaWilson, #MitriceRichardson, #KishaMichael, #MichelleShirley, #RedelJones, and too many others…Black Women Are Divine is a Black Lives Matter annual celebration of the divinity of Black womanhood. Calling all Black women to come out and enjoy a day of community healing, with live music, art, food, giveaways, community care like massage, life-coaching, sound bath, dance. Everything is free. Black women, girls, and femmes are invited to receive, and everyone is welcome to come make an offering.
