Weekly Email 1/31/22-2/7/22
This Week’s BLMLA Actions/Events (1/31/22-2/7/22):
MONDAY, 1/31/2022 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Pasadena City Council knows it can fire the officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain. Making excuses in response to the murder of Black people is complicity and it is racist. We demand the firing of all the officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain as the first towards true justice and police accountability. On this week’s agenda, Item #3: We object to this hiring agency for a new City Manager whom the public has never heard of until now, has pro-police employees and isn’t even based in Southern California. Item #9: Regarding officer-involved shootings, killing people on the job is not doing a good job. We demand the firing of the officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain. Please submit speaker cards prior to the public comment period at the link here. To participate by phone, call 1-669-900-6833, Meeting ID: 161 482 446. Learn more and find talking points here.

And yet this week at the police commission, LAPD continues to seek further funding for surveillance software. We must raise our voices during public comment to let the so-called “oversight commission” understand that they Coalition talking points here. Please use the “raise hand” function to speak.
