  • SUNDAY, 7/18/2021 at 12PM – Black Lives Matter Youth Vanguard Political Education Camp Finale at Leimert Park, 3333 W. 43rd Place – Calling all youth of color, middle school through college! Join the Youth Vanguard for the final gathering of our 6-week political education camp, with guest speakers, art activities, community building, and food.   • SUNDAY, 7/18/2021 at 2-5PM – March for Mely, from the Northeast LAPD station (3353 N. San Fernando Rd.) to the Silverlake Trader Joe's (2738 Hyperion Ave.) – March with the family of #MelyCorado who was murdered by the LAPD at the Silverlake Trader Joe's on July 21, 2018. Several families of people who have been killed by police in LA will join the Corado family to speak and share the stories of their loved ones, including the family of #DanielHernandez and the family of #AnthonyVargas.

  • SUNDAY, 7/18/2021 at 7PM – Black Lives Matter General Monthly Meeting, McCarty Memorial Church 4103 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018 – This month we’ll be discussing why we must #EndQualifiedImmunity. And...celebrating 8 years and counting of beautiful struggle! We welcome ALL Black folks, non-Black allies, elders, youth, families, new people, returning and standing members. Closed to law enforcement, media, elected officials and their staff, and haters. Donations welcome, but not required. Free vegan dinner and produce boxes provided by Vegan Outreach.   • MONDAY, 7/19/2021 at 4:30PM – Pasadena City Council Meeting on zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – The family of #AnthonyMcClain has requested BLMLA support as they struggle for justice in Anthony’s name. Make public comment for the Pasadena City Council meeting at 4:30pm and demand that Council: 1) Call for the immediate firing and prosecution of Officer Edwin Dumaguindin 2) Accept the resignation of Police Chief Perez EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, and 3) Remove City Manager Steve Mermell. Please submit a speaker card prior to the public comment period at the link here.   • TUESDAY, 7/20/2021 at 9:00AM – LAPD Bomb Press Conference, LAPD Headquarters, 100 W 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90012 – Join #LAPCFails coalition for a press conference calling out the Commission and Chief Michel Moore for the detonation of the explosive failure in South LA, and then call into the meeting right after the press conference to demand accountability and compensation.

  • TUESDAY, 7/20/2021 at 8:30AM – Protest the LAPD Detonation of Explosives in South Central Los Angeles in front of LAPD Headquarters, 100 W. 1st St., DTLA – Join BLMLA, Stop LAPD Spying and South Central Neighborhood Council to protest LAPD’s detonation of explosive in a residential South Central neighborhood, which injured and traumatized Black and Brown neighbors and destroyed homes and property.   • TUESDAY, 7/20/2021 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944  – Uplift the demand that LAPD be held accountability and compensate the neighborhood  for the explosion of a huge stockpile of illegal fireworks by LAPD, which injured 17 people and damaged multiple properties. Let’s call for the commission to #FireChiefMoore for his role in the decision and for his failed leadership. Coalition talking points here. Please use the “raise hand” function to speak.   • TUESDAY, 7/20/2021 at 7PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at TorranceCA.gov and facebook.com/TorranceCA/ – We need all hands on deck to call in to the Torrance City Council meeting to demand they 1) Fire Torrance police officers Anthony Chavez and Matthew Concannon for the murder of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell, and 2) Establish a civilian oversight commission of over Torrance PD.   • WEDNESDAY, 7/21/2021 at 3PM (and every Wednesday) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – Stand with the families of those killed by police against the body that protects their murderers and hinder accountability. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication.
