· Tuesday, 2/2/2021 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 – We must hold the LA Police Commission accountable! The Commission continues to rubberstamp police misconduct and are now commissioning a “study” to re-write the recent history of LAPD brutality during the #GeorgeFloyd uprisings. · Tuesday, 2/2/2021 12:00 PM – Rally for Progressive Justice Reform, 111 N. Hill Street – DA Gascon has been under constant attack from Police Associations and old-school prosecutors. Since we know that police associations are pushing back against our progressive reforms, We must push back! See you there!
· Thursday, 2/4/2021 12PM (Meeting ID 923-6097-7810) and 5PM (Meeting ID 990-8337-3720) – Tell the National Police Foundation to #DefundThePolice at 312-626-6779 – LAPD has commissioned the National Police Foundation to “study” their behavior during the #GeorgeFloyd uprisings…largely because we are suing them for brutality. Call in to one or both of their “listening sessions” and tell the NPF that LAPD is corrupt, violent and should be defunded.
· Thursday, 2/4/2021 7PM – This Is Not a Drill! “The Crisis in Tigray” facebook.com/blmla – There is a humanitarian crisis in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Many have seen social media posts and are struggling to understand what is happening there. Join Dr. Tadios Assefa (Black Alliance for Just Immigration), exiled Ethiopian journalist Elias Wondimu, and guest host to be announced to deepen our understanding and take an informed position.
