MONDAY, 11/22/2021 at 10:30AM – Stop LAPD Spying Press Conference to Fight Against LAPD Budget Increase at LAPD HQ, 100 W. 1st. – LAPD recently submitted their 2022-2023 budget proposal and are requesting a $213 million increase. This increase will be on top of the LAPD’s total budget of $3.1 billion. If approved, this will be LAPD’s largest budget ever and an increase of 52% in the past decade alone. Stop LAPD Spying, Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles, Los Angeles Community Action Network, White People 4 Black Lives and the People’s Budget LA coalition will host a press conference to denounce the budget increase and call for the Police Commission, the Mayor and City Council to reject LAPD’s budget proposal and #DefundThePolice!
TUESDAY, 11/23/2021 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 – At this week’s meeting, the Police Commission will consider the LAPD’s proposal to increase their budget by more than $213 million. This increase will be on top of the LAPD’s total budget of $3.1 billion. We need you to lift your voice against this egregious proposal by making public comment. Demand the Commission reject the LAPD’s increased budget proposal, that they #DefundThePolice, and that the Commission #FireChiefMoore for his failed leadership. Coalition talking points here. TUESDAY, 11/23/2021 at 12PM – City Council Special Meeting on Redistricting by phone 1 669 254 5252 – The 8th Council District is the only majority Black district in Los Angeles and its only “assets”: USC and Exposition Park, are being stripped by the Council’s redistricting proposal. It is critical to engage with this process and make public comment to demand USC and Expo Park return to the 8th district for the future of Black Los Angeles. To make public comment, call 1 669 254 5252 and use Meeting ID No. 160 535 8466 and then press #. Press # again when prompted for participant ID. Once admitted into the meeting, press *9 to request to speak.

Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication.
