  • MONDAY, 9/27/2021 at 4:30PM – Pasadena City Council Meeting on zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446City Manager Steve Mermell announced he is RETIRING! This victory comes as the community has shown up to Pasadena City Council meetings to demand Mermell’s resignation for his refusal to fire Edwin Dumaguidin, the Pasadena officer who murdered #AnthonyMcClain. We have two demands remaining and we know that WHEN WE FIGHT WE WIN! Make public comment for the Pasadena City Council meeting at 4:30pm and demand that Council: 1) Call for the immediate firing and prosecution of Officer Edwin Dumaguindin 2) Accept the resignation of Police Chief Perez EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.   • TUESDAY, 9/28/2021 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 We must protect our freedom fighters and raise our voices against the terror and harm LAPD inflicts on our people. Make public comment to demand the commission #FireChiefMoore and continue to demand #DefundThePolice! Coalition talking points here. Please use the “raise hand” function to speak.   • TUESDAY, 9/28/2021 at 9:00AM – Board of Supervisors Meeting by phone – This week’s Board of Supervisors meeting is covering important topics that will push for more accountability and power to #CheckTheSheriff. The Supervisors will be reviewing the recently released Rand Corporation report, which outlines the existence of deputy gangs within the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Instead of just filing the report, the Check The Sheriff coalition is recommending the Supervisors to take action and implement strategies to eradicate deputy gangs. Another item on the agenda will request the chief medical examiner-coroner conduct inquests into the deaths of #DanaMalikYoungJr, #SamuelHerreraJr, and #Dijon. Any finds will be provided to the families.   • TUESDAY, 9/28/2021 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting IN PERSON for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at 3031 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503 Torrance police officers Matthew Concannon and Anthony Chavez killed #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell within 15 seconds of approaching the vehicle and to this day have not been fired or prosecuted. Join Christophher’s family and BLMLA in demanding that the officers be fired and that Torrance City Council finally create a civilian oversight commission of the police department, like they were told to do about 6 months prior to the murder of Christopher in 2018.   • WEDNESDAY, 9/29/2021 at 4PM*** (and every Wednesday) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – The incident last week at Melina Abdullah’s house proves that police don’t keep us safe, WE KEEP US SAFE. Our communities deserve systems of care, not systems of harm. Come out to stand with the families of those killed by police and affirm our commitment to build beloved communities that love and protect one another. Wear masks and bring your bodies, spirits, energy, drums, signs, flags and dedication.   • SATURDAY, 10/2/2021 at 12PM – Community Discussion on Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at Brenner Park 235 Barthe Dr. Pasadena, CA 91103 – Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles is inviting the Pasadena and Altadena community to discuss Anthony McClain’s murder at the hands of Pasadena police. We continue to fight for justice in the name of Anthony McClain, a loving Black father and community member, who was murdered in 2020. Let’s organize to hold the officers accountable. Please wear masks.

  • SATURDAY, 10/23/2021 11AM-5PM –  Black Women Are Divine! at Norman Houston Park, 4800 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles – Black women, girls, and femmes...let’s celebrate our divinity! Inspired by the Spirit of #BreonnaTaylor and all of the Black women stolen by state violence, this is a day of healing, joy, good food, music, dance, celebration, and love. People who are not Black women are invited to bring gifts and offerings to honor Black women...flowers, candles, art.
