BLMLA Supported John Penny At His Trial

Friday morning, a contingent of BLMLA members and allies showed up at the LAX courthouse to support John Penny, who was shot in the face by LAPD over a noise complaint. Penny likewise had all his belongings confiscated and is destitute as a result.

According to Dr. Melina Abdullah, “One of John’s family members also joined after hearing about what happened to him through our activism work. Several arguments were made to release John that were not successful yet.”

Penny’s next court date will be September 13th, 2019 at 8:30am, located at the Metropolitan Courthouse in Department 95, 1945 S. Hill Street in Los Angeles 90007.
