VICTORY!

On Tuesday, August 13th, the Justice LA Coalition which includes Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, Los Angeles Community Action Network (LA CAN), White People 4 Black Lives, Reform LA Jails, and others and led by BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors shut down LA County’s contract to spend $2 billion on a new "mental health treatment facility" which we all knew was another jail. The LA County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to cancel the project in an effort to commit to treatment over incarceration. Our team’s organizing and advocacy convinced the supervisors and other officials that punishment is cruel and counterproductive.

  1. DONATE to the family of Jamaal Simpson, who was murdered by LA County Sheriff on August 1, 2019. Immediately upon killing Jamaal deputies cordoned off the area and confiscated all surveillance video. https://www.gofundme.com/f/justice-for-jamaal

  4. CANCEL your membership at 24-Hour Fitness and tell everyone you know to cancel in the names of #AlbertRamonDorsey and #DennisToddRogers.
