  • MONDAY, 3/6/2023 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Call in to the Pasadena City Council meeting and demand justice for #KendrecMcDade and demand the City Council fire the police officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain.   • TUESDAY, 3/7/2023 at 6PM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944 – Make public comment to demand the police commission do the work to hold killer cops accountable! Coalition talking points here. Please use the “raise hand” function to speak. To participate by phone, call (855) 880-1246, Meeting ID: 289 225 944. Press *9 to be put in the cue for public comment.

  • TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY 3/7, 3/8 & 3/10/2023 at 10AM – City Council Meeting at 200 N. Main St. – Demand that city council REJECTS LAPD’s robot dogs, donated to the police from the majority white and wealthy LA Police Foundation. NYPD pulled their robot dogs after the people rose up against them and the city of San Francisco also didn’t move forward with their plans for robot dogs after public outcry. We CANNOT let LAPD implement more surveillance tools and toys to overpolice our communities. Come out to the city council meetings to raise your voice during public comment, at city hall every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 9:30am.

*You must have proof of COVID vaccination and ID to enter City Hall.

  • WEDNESDAY, 3/8/2023 at 4PM – #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St. – Bring your voices, your energy, and your commitment to building a just and free world, where police associations no longer have control over public safety policy. Wear a mask! Snacks and water provided! Streamed live on Instagram at @blmlosangeles. Every Wednesday at 4pm!

  • SATURDAY, 3/11/2023 8-10AM – This Is Not a Drill! on KBLA Talk 1580AM or facebook.com/BLMLA – Topic and guests to come. Our own Dr. Melina Abdullah hosts.

  • SUNDAY, 3/12/2023 at 7PM – Monthly Organizing Meeting at 3423 W. 43rd Pl. Los Angeles, CA 90008 – Let’s come together to organize for justice and to make #BlackLivesMatter! Welcome to new folks, returning folks, all Black people, youth, elders, families, and non-Black allies. Dinner provided. Produce boxes to take home with you (because we believe in feeding our folks!). Donations welcome, but not required.


Upcoming:

  • SATURDAY, 3/18/2023 12-4PM  – 3rd Annual Black Women Are Divine Gathering at Norman Houston Park  – Join an afternoon of loving on Black women in the name of #BreonnaTaylor. Black women will receive gifts of song, healing, joy, lunch, and reminders of how absolutely divine we are. Everyone else is invited to bring flowers, candles, treats, gifts, cards, and ways to show Black women how much love and honor is felt. Have items to donate or gifts to give? Email info@blmla.org.


Recap:

  • Last Wednesday’s “Fund Services, Not Police” rally to #EndPoliceAssociations honored Black divine women and the mamas, sisters, daughters and aunties of those who have been stolen by police violence. We also demanded justice in the name of all those killed by murderous police.

  • Last Saturday’s This Is Not A Drill discussed the annual #BlackWomenAreDivine campaign with musical artist Rickie Byars, BLMLA organizer Megan Castillo and poet and BLMLA organizer Yazmin Monet Watkins!
