  • TUESDAY, 4/19/2022 at 9:30 AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting on Zoom at https://lapd.zoom.us/s/289225944This week’s agenda includes a six-month update of the LAPD’s After-Action report implementation plan. Even though our communities need funding for housing, mental health resources, youth services and more, LAPD continues to jockey for more resources and more officers. The plan also discusses the creation and adoption of a “Technology Adoption and Use Policy'' for LAPD, which allows LAPD to obtain new surveillance and tracking technology under the guise of “oversight.” Make public comment during the LAPC meeting and demand the commissioners take meaningful action to stop the surveillance and criminalization of our communities and make #BlackLivesMatter!   • TUESDAY, 4/19/2022 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell at TorranceCA.gov and facebook.com/TorranceCA/Uplift the following demands to make #BlackLivesMatter in Torrance: 1) Establish an independent civilian oversight commission of the Torrance police department 2) Fire all of the officers involved in the messaging scandal 3) Resume in person meetings so the public can be heard 4) Reject the $30 million police budget increase 5) Reject the vote to give raises to theTorrance police department.   • WEDNESDAY, 4/20/2022 at 4PM (and every Wednesday) – Fund Services, Not Police! #EndPoliceAssociations at 1313 W. 8th St., Los Angeles – This week’s #EndPoliceAssociations will honor #PatrickLyoya, the 26-year-old Black man who was shot in the back of the head by Michigan police on April 4th. Come out in beloved community as we take over the street in front of the Los Angeles Police Protective League office for a protest to #EndPoliceAssociations that shield killer cops from accountability!
