95 years ago today, the man who became El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz was born as Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. A true transformation, he went through a wide spectrum of experiences as a Black person in the United States, from crime and imprisonment to a spiritual and racial awakening.

His fiery oratory and iconoclastic approach to society is still widely lauded to this day, and our struggles definitely benefit from standing on his shoulders.
