The Hill: "Black people are disproportionately affected by ... coronavirus" #NotADrill

As the data begins to roll in, the numbers don’t look good for people of color. The Hill’s Anagha Srikanth reports

“Historically racist structures in the United States have set up black Americans to bear the brunt of many crises, from climate change to the novel coronavirus. Early data shows black people are being infected and dying at higher rates than other demographics.“

Early information indicates that the percentage of Black deaths from COVID-19 in Los Angeles is 17%, but there are indications that there is missing data as national indication show drastically higher rates of infection for Black people.

Black Lives Matter Los Angeles is leading the way in trying to provide information for people to connect with resources and survive this challenged time.

This Thursday night at 7PM, please join us for our weekly town hall, where we will focus on protecting mental, spiritual and physical under quarantine.
